Hippity Hoppity Easter's On It's Way!

Enjoying a Spring day today. Doing a little inside cleaning today. Throwing away some things. Donating some too. 😋  I got a start on the Easter decor. Some's better than none!  Here a little there a little.  My new painting says "Easter" in and of itself!  "He Leadeth Me" by . Yongsung Kim   So I tried to decorate around it. I'm sure I'll change it several times in the next week but this is what I've got so far. I haven't even gone and looked at new stuff. This is all just old from other years. 😉

Wreath's = Happy

I finished two wreaths today.  That feels like I accomplished a lot.  Plus I added black & white ribbon to my Tulip Wreath. (Thanks to Andrea Larson lifelovelarson for the black and white ribbon idea!).  Anyway - a few places in my home are now a little brighter and
Springy!  However - the Easter Tray still isn't finished.  Be patient.

Spring comes in "fits and starts"!

     If you know me then you know I love languages and particularly old sayings in the English language.  I love to research the origin of these cute sayings.  So today I chose "Fits and Starts".  If you are not familiar with this one, it means with irregular movement; with much stopping and starting.  It is first recorded in a sermon by Robert Sanderson in England in 1681.  Your lesson for the day!  I dare you to use it in a sentence.  Back to Spring - today is rainy and much cooler.  Hopefully just a watering day for the flowers that want to emerge. 
     As promised I am posting the construction of the 3 tiered tray I bought.  I found a few things that will look cute in it.  But one necessary item in my opinion is a cute fabric napkin to line the bottom tier.  I'm going with a pale peachy pink and gold theme.  I will search today for fabric or a napkin that coordinates.  Sadly the faux hens and chickens were all gone but I did find some other cute succulent picks. 
     I have AADD (adult attention deficit disorder)😏 but I try to use it to my advantage. Basically I try not to have more than about 5 projects going at once.  LOL!  Any more than that and the chances of them being completed is pretty slim.  So the 3 tiered tray is one project.  Another is the Spring Wreaths I'm creating, there are two.  The other projects I will save posting for another day!  Here are my photos of t some of the pieces I'll use when I arrange my tray today.  Everything you see here came from Hobby Lobby. (except the tray of course!)

Here are the beginnings of my wreaths.

I got the wreaths for less than half price at JoAnn's (on sale and with a coupon).  They always look a little sparse to me so I like to add some flowers in here and there for a more full look. That's what the bunch on chair will be used for.  I will cut the stems into individual flowers and poke them in.  The ribbon will be for hanging.  On the yellow wreath I may try to find a cute periwinkle checked ribbon instead of the yellow polka-dot.   Ta-da! 😁  I will post again once they are hanging up somewhere!

Spring is Here???

😍 Yep - it seems Spring is here - it shouldn't be quite yet - but I'll take it!  lol  Spring means
decorating, cleaning and making everything fresh and new.  So I always think of Spring décor like wreaths and flowers and bunnies, etc.  Then next I just want to slather my walls with fresh paint.  But that will have to wait a couple of weeks.  So I bought these two items the other day and am ready to incorporate them somewhere.

This 3 tiered tray came from Amazon.  It's the Benzara Three Tiered Metal Galvanized Tray with Small Gold Colored Studs - $57.87  Only took 2 days to get here! Yay!

I'm going to start looking for some artificial hens n chickens and succulent.  I've got quite a few decorations I bought last year - Eastery stuff.  I'll get some moss.  Lots of pale pink and green will be cute. 

Then I need to put these cute pineapple hooks somewhere.  Probably the kitchen.  I got them at TJMaxx. At our local store - not online.

Life Happens

So - if you've wondered where I've been the last few weeks, let me just say, "Life happens!"  Every so often it seems like we get hit with everything all at once.  Mine all seemed to happen in about a 3 week time frame.  I had two grand-babies that were due about three weeks apart.  I had totally planned for that.  But sadly, in the middle of the two births my mother-in-law became ill and passed away somewhat unexpectedly.  So we had a birth, a death and a birth.  In that order!  That's when you sit back and go, "Wow - life really is precious and we need to cherish every moment of every day!".
Then following the birth of baby #2 (they were both boys by the way) I could not ignore the 20th birthday of grand-daughter #1 on February 2nd.  So off I went to celebrate with her by taking her to see the Broadway production of Mama-Mia!  I will post some pictures of the events of the last few weeks.  After that I hope things get back to normal and I can begin where I left off! 
Valentine's Day completely flew by me - so maybe it's best that I just skip forward to St. Patrick's Day (although I might post pics of my Valentine's Day console décor - maybe - really big maybe).  The best thing would be to go to my St. Patty's Day Pinterest board.  Cute stuff there if I do say so myself!  St. Patty's Day Pinterest Board (24 rows down).  Here's some of my favorites.

Pink and Gold for Valentine's Day

Been searching Pinterest for some Valentine's Day inspiration and came across these beautiful decorations from +A Shade Of Teal.  Just what I had in mind.  Something a little softer and "vintagier" (is that a word?) than your every day red, white and pink.  So here it is - and my very favorite is the little pink ribbon heart wreath! My mantel is still bare after removing all of the Christmas stuff.  So I'm ready to transform it!

Beauty Basics

Sharing my favorite makeup today.  Believe me - I've tried them all!!  And I have a graveyard to prove it.  But Chanel has made the top of my list for years.  Right now I'm using Le Lift moisturizer, Lift Lumiere foundation and Les Beiges healthy glow powder.  These are found at Nordstrom.
